The Point CDC – The Point's Blank Plate Empowered Meals Project & Campus Market Experience

Worked with Bascom Catering, Mrs. Pats Food Ministry, our Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene funded Be a Buddy Stewards, and our Hunts Point Community Network to engage directly with at least 150 individuals and 30 volunteers, as well as thousands of others who met us live on Instagram Blank Plate Summer Food Demos

Produced food demos on Instagram that have garnered over 2000 visitors who have tuned in to watch Chef Bascom and his team concoct meals and beverages ideal suited for the summer months as well holiday favorites.

Distributed approximately 882 turkeys and full meal boxes to the families and individuals most in need.

Blank Plate Culinary Arts Program planning begins including hiring staff, supplies, workshop schedules and event calendar.

Using culinary arts to increase youth and community awareness about food justice issues and exposure to healthy eating habits.

Using an apprenticeship model that encourages food-related employment and coordinating several experiences at our Riverside Campus that increases participation in the local food economy and leads to social cohesion.
